Mortar is one of the most popular and powerful defenses in Clash of Clans.
Currently, there are seventeen levels available for this defense.
And, it takes quite a lot of time for a player to upgrade it as the gold cost is high and the upgrade takes a week or more than a week to complete.
It is quite common for players to forget about the upgrade cost of Mortar and their corresponding upgrade time.
To solve that issue, I've come up with this article!

I've done all the math required so that you don't have to!

Mortar Upgrade Cost and Upgrade Time in Clash of Clans
I've organized the entire data in a table.
Moreover, to make sure that everything is easy to read and understand, I've also written the data in text in an organized manner.
The following table displays the upgrade cost, and upgrade time of Mortar in the game:

The data in the above table can be interpreted as:
- You'll require 5,000 gold to build a level 1 Mortar. It will be built in 30 minutes.
- To upgrade a level 1 Mortar to level 2, you'll need 25,000 gold. The upgrade gets completed in 1 hour.
- Upgrading a level 2 Mortar to level 3 requires 90,000 gold. And, the upgrade takes 2 hours to complete.
- To upgrade a Mortar from level 3 to level 4, you'll require 180,000 gold. The upgrade will take 3 hours to complete.
- Upgrading a Mortar from level 4 to level 5 will require 300,000 gold. And, the upgrade gets completed in 6 hours.
- To upgrade a Mortar from level 5 to level 6, you'll require 500,000 gold and 8 hours of time!
- Upgrading a Mortar from level 6 to level 7 requires 900,000 gold. The upgrade will be completed in 12 hours.
- To upgrade a Mortar from level 7 to level 8, you'll require 1,200,000 gold. The upgrade takes 18 hours to complete.
- Upgrading a Mortar from level 8 to level 9 will require 1,600,000 gold. And, the upgrade gets completed in 20 hours.
- To upgrade a Mortar from level 9 to level 10, you'll require 1,800,000 gold. The upgrade will take 1 day to complete.
- Upgrading a Mortar from level 10 to level 11 requires 2,300,000 gold. And, the upgrade gets completed in 1 day 6 hours.
- To upgrade a Mortar from level 11 to level 12, you'll require 2,400,000 gold. The upgrade will take 1 day 12 hours to complete.
- Upgrading a Mortar from level 12 to level 13 requires 2,800,000 gold. And, the upgrade gets completed in 2 days.
- To upgrade a Mortar from level 13 to level 14, you'll require 4,300,000 gold. The upgrade will take 2 days 12 hours to complete.
- Upgrading a Mortar from level 14 to level 15 requires 5,000,000 gold. And, the upgrade gets completed in 3 days 12 hours.
- To upgrade a Mortar from level 15 to level 16, you'll require 7,000,000 gold. The upgrade will take 5 days to complete.
- To max out your Mortar by upgrading it from level 16 to level 17, you will need 19,500,000 gold and 14 days 12 hours of time!
