Town Hall 9 (also known as, TH9) is a fun stage in Clash of Clans!
You get new troops like the Lava Hounds, and new defenses like the X-Bows!
With so many new things unlocked, players get confused what to upgrade first!

In this article, I've explained the ideal Town Hall 9 upgrade priority order in detail!
If you follow this guide, you will max out your Town Hall 9 super fast and without much hassle!
So, without any further ado, let's get started!
TH9 Upgrade Priority Order
So, as soon as you reach Town Hall 9, here's the upgrade priority order which you should ideally follow to max out your base super fast:
First and foremost, upgrade your Laboratory. This will help you to upgrade your TH9 troops to their max levels, building up your offense.
Next, upgrade your Hero Hall.
You will unlock the Archer Queen, which is going to be super important for your attacks!
Then, upgrade your heroes one by one, on the side! (with preference on the Archer Queen).
After that, upgrade your Blacksmith!
You will unlock the Giant Arrow hero equipment, which works like a charm with the Archer Queen!
Next up, upgrade all your Army Camps! In total, your troop housing capacity will increase from 200 to 220, which is going to be instrumental for your attacks!
Once you get an available builder after you do the above upgrades, start setting up the new defenses (like the X-Bows) one by one.
Next up, upgrade your Clan Castle. This increases your troop capacity from 25 to 30.
Upgrade your Dark Barracks, which will unlock the Witch and the Lava Hounds, which are pretty popular in most attack strategies of TH9.
Upgrade your Spell Factory, which will unlock the Jump spell, and Freeze Spell.
Upgrade your Dark Spell Factory, which will first unlock the Haste Spell, and then, the Skeleton Spell.
Next, upgrade your Barracks, which unlocks the Baby Dragon.
There are no upgrades available for Gold and Elixir Storages or Collectors in Town Hall 9, so that saves us some time and resources!
But, there are quite a few upgrades of Dark Elixir Drill and Dark Elixir Storage, so we have to take care of that!
Upgrade your traps one by one on the side, since they are an integral part of your base's defense, breaking your opponent's heavy attacks!
Now, it is time to upgrade the defenses in your base! Start with X-Bows, Air Defenses, Hidden Teslas, Air Sweepers, Wizard Towers and move on to other defenses!
Allot two builders for upgrading your Barbarian King and Archer Queen for few weeks. This will help you max them out in an efficient manner.
You will miss using them for a few war attacks, but if you set the timings right, you might be able to use them for war attacks, and then send them back for upgrade.
Upgrade the Minion Prince, according to your attack strategies. If you use it often, then you can upgrade it before Barbarian King/Archer Queen.
Once your Laboratory is built up, start upgrading troops and spells, depending on which attack strategies you use.
If you are a LavaLoon attack strategy enjoyer, then upgrade your Balloons/Lava Hounds first, and the spells (maybe, Rage) that you are going to require!
Regarding Blacksmith hero equipment upgrades, the idea is similar.
Upgrade those hero equipments first, which you plan on using, and you are good to go!
