PUBG Battlegrounds is one of the games that literally started the battle royale craze.

Even after all these years, it still holds a massive and dedicated player base across the globe!

When a player drops into Erangel or any other map for the first time, a bunch of questions tend to come up.

And one of the most common ones is about how much internet data PUBG Battlegrounds actually eats up.

So, how much internet data does PUBG Battlegrounds use?

On average, PUBG Battlegrounds uses around 60-90 MB of internet data per hour, which is quite reasonable for a battle royale game of this scale.

The internet data usage of PUBG Battlegrounds can vary slightly depending on the map, the number of players in the vicinity, voice chat usage and the intensity of the match. But it generally stays around 75 MB per hour for most players.

In this article, I've answered this question in more detail!

I've also answered another related question that comes to the minds of a lot of PUBG Battlegrounds players!

So, without any further ado, let us dive right into it!

Internet Data Usage of PUBG Battlegrounds

I did some research to find out the actual internet data usage of PUBG Battlegrounds.

I got in touch with a few friends who regularly play PUBG and asked them to keep track of the data the game consumed on their devices during a session.

I kept track of the same on my end as well.

All of us played PUBG Battlegrounds for one full hour on our respective devices and then noted down how much data the game had used in that time.

After going through all the results, I found that the data usage of PUBG Battlegrounds was in the range of 60 MB to 90 MB per hour across the different devices and setups.

However, on the majority of the devices, the game consumed around 75 MB of internet data per hour.

So, we can conclude that the internet data usage of PUBG Battlegrounds is around 75 MB per hour under normal playing conditions.

From this, calculating the weekly and monthly data usage is pretty straightforward!

If you play PUBG Battlegrounds for one hour every day for a week, the total internet data used would be around 525 MB per week.

And if you play for one hour every day throughout an entire month, the total data consumed would come out to around 2.25 GB per month.

Now, you might also want to know how much data PUBG Battlegrounds uses based on how long you play each day.

I've put together a table below to help you out with exactly that!

All the math is already taken care of, so you just need to find your daily playtime in the table and you're good to go.

Here's the table:

Playtime per day Data usage per day Data usage per week Data usage per month
1 hour 75 MB 525 MB 2.25 GB
2 hours 150 MB 1.05 GB 4.5 GB
3 hours 225 MB 1.58 GB 6.75 GB
4 hours 300 MB 2.1 GB 9 GB
5 hours 375 MB 2.63 GB 11.25 GB
6 hours 450 MB 3.15 GB 13.5 GB
7 hours 525 MB 3.68 GB 15.75 GB

Note: The data usage of PUBG Battlegrounds has been taken as 75 MB per hour in the above table.

Does PUBG Battlegrounds use a LOT of Internet data?

Compared to most battle royale games out there, PUBG Battlegrounds is actually quite data-efficient, coming in at around 75 MB per hour.

For a game that runs 100 players on a massive map with real-time movement, gunfights, and vehicle physics all happening simultaneously, that number is pretty impressive honestly.

This makes PUBG a solid option even for players who are on tighter data plans or don't always have access to a strong Wi-Fi connection.

Whether you're playing a couple of matches casually or grinding ranked mode for hours, the data usage stays well within a manageable range for most players.

Conclusion

In this article, I've answered one of the most commonly asked questions among the PUBG Battlegrounds community: how much internet data does the game actually use.

I'll keep updating the data in this article as things change over time.

Note: The data in this article is up-to-date, as of 3 June 2026.
